regular guy Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 johnny it's fun finding out about AMT. anybody know when original AMT stopped producing kits? that's a start. Happy New Years!
Casey Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 anybody know when original AMT stopped producing kits? What's your definition of "original AMT"? The last aluminum model toy AMT produced?
regular guy Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) casey the one started in 1948 found answer at wikipedia. it was sold to Matchbox in 1978 and then bought by Ertl in 1983 i would call '78-83 the 'Dark Age' of AMT. then under Ertl the kits were there but the packaging was so-so if i wanted to be gushy i could call Round 2 buying them in 2007 the 'Renaissance of AMT' a second golden age. so i think an early Round 2 is worth keeping, i really like the gray plastic too. Happy New Years! Edited January 1, 2012 by regular guy
Rob Hall Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 I have the reissue of the '65 Lincoln..alas, the body was warped. I have the original issue sedan and convertible kits from the '60s ('61-65, sedans from '66-69), love those big Lincolns...
