Interesting weather here lately. January 5 and it was in the 50s today.

Global warming? Yeah, baby... sign me up! :D I don't have to shovel heat!!!

Remember, it's not global warming..it's climate change..some areas get colder, some areas get warmer. Storms get stronger...droughts last longer..eventually, the summer highs in Phoenix will be 140-150 degrees probably.

I've a couple of coral snakes; black snakes and brown snakes, but they're supposed to be good guys that eat rodents.

most snakes eat bad stuff , but a coral snake is probably the most poisonous snake in north america ,, they are not aggressive but not to be messed with .. :o

Hey to Tonioseven...you can keep the water moccosins < however you spell it, those big nasty-lookin bugs ( what the heck are they? ) and the pythons...I guess I'm not that cold after all! LOL!!! Really tho, what kind of bug is THAT? Geez!!:blink:

It's a giant water bug. http://www.eduwebs.o...t_water_bug.htm . I didn't realize that they could deliver poison in their bites until after I took those pictures and looked them up. There's a guy at my job that harvests them and eats them.

Little (1") white, scorpions run around after pine trees are cut down. They appear to like living up in the trees.

Did you see the newspaper article about a 11 foot salt water alligator in Australia that confiscated a workers lawn mower? Guy was cutting the grass in the compound and the gator decided he wanted it. Gator was huge!

That's a crocodile Jim. As far as temperment they are apples and oranges. A salt water croc is one of the meanest things on the planet, right after my wife. And yeah, unless your going to messing around in the palmettos and other trees and bushes, you'll likely never see a scorpion. Be careful around woodpiles too.

Yep, they sure are, but they are a timid, rear fanged snake and the fangs are pretty short too. They would have to really get you good to envenomate you. Remember your rhyme to tell them from the king snakes and you'll be fine. "red to black is a friend to Jack, red to yellow will kill a fellow." We teach it in school here.

WHAT?! He eats them? Ok, I just had to clean " stuff " off of my keyboard!

It was foggy here this morning too but it got up to 72 and promising to be warmer tomorrow. Good. After our Florida Auto & BScale Trucks (FAST) meeting in the morning, we're going to have a flea market sale out in the parking lot.

Cheap source of protein, Harry! LOL!

Haven't you been watching Andrew Zimmerman's show?

I guess it's like the weirdos around here that eat those black & orange 7 year cicadas or whatever they are! Gawd, Zimmerman is one gross hombre!!!!!:wacko:

Remember the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz... when they were in the poppy field and the Wicked Witch made it snow? He said "Interesting weather we're having!"

That statement would apply here today. It was 56! On January 6th!!!
