Tonioseven Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Hey. This is an OLD project that has been on and off for a few years. The pictures are chronological so the latest picture is where it stands at this moment. I decided to ressurect it after realizing it looked a lot worse that it was. Thanks for looking.
Tonioseven Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 The paint was darker than I wanted it to be so I stripped it; some of the putty went away along with the undesired paint...
Tonioseven Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 After a bit of replacement body work, I ended up with this... I'll try to get in a uniform coat of primer to see where it stands. Thanks again for looking.

Modlbldr Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I love it! Send it to me. I'll give it a good home. Later-
Dirkpitt289 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 If you thought the original paint work was bad I can't wait to see what you think is good. I thought it look sharp in that red.
LAone Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 man, i gotta say that red was nice. i dig it man, keep it going.
Abell82 Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Looks good! Stick with it, we all want to see this one completed!
Tonioseven Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 Thanks guys; this will be one of the first completions after I get set up in my new work area. I forgot to mention that the hood insert is an old Scale Auto Style piece (Thanks Chris!) and the wing is a Tamiya -32 item. The chassis is pretty crappy but since it's a curbside, I'll focus on wheel fitment and outward appearance. The interior is pretty decent so I'll scratchbuild a nice roll cage for it. I'm going for a sort of "Wangan runner" look with it.
CrewDawg15 Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Good to see this one back on the bench Tonio. As a previous owner of one, I have a soft spot for these cars...now, I regret selling my '87 ZX before moving back to Japan.
