DumpyDan Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Hi guys, can someone help me find out which kits came with chrome steelie wheels, I need a set and would like some guidence on where to look, I have a large selection of kits and really don't want to go through every kit. So please point me in the right direction. Thanks DAN
Erik Smith Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Revell 1949 Mercury. Newest AMT 1962 Catalina (although mine were short shot).
ChrisPflug Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Pair of nice chrome reverse rear wheels in the old tool AMT '57 Chevy, Revell Monogram '58 Corvette- MPC annual Camaros and Firebirds through the 70s also included deep dish "open racing wheels"
bigphoto Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) Some issues of the AMT 56 and 57 Fords had them. You could always take stock steelies and Alclad them! The Amigo pack of the 1/24 Monogram 32 Roadster has some also. Edited January 11, 2012 by bigphoto
Guest Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 IMO, the best chrome reverse wheels come from the Modelhaus. They're worth every single penny and then some. The '62 Custom Catalina and Monogram '58 Vette are close behind.
Rob Hall Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Scale Equipment Ltd has some pretty nice chromed ones also.
Bartster Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Lindberg 64 Maverick, Color me gone doesn't. Lindberg 61 Dyno Don Impala(fronts only) Lindberg&Jo-Han 64 Petty Belvedere. AMT 72 Blazer(backs are 5-lug)
Chuck Most Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 AMT '51 Chevy had some (at least the Convertible and Fastback kits did). The AMT '67 Mercury Comet kit had some too, but they were the Mercury-specific 'slotted' steel wheels. There is a set in the AMT '63 Ford Galaxie, but they're a bit iffy, appearance-wise.
Borgis Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) AMT '51 Chevy had some (at least the Convertible and Fastback kits did). In the kits I have it's the opposite. The convertible and the Fleetlines have chrome reversed wheels, but with baby moon caps. The -51 Bel Air HT has chrome wheels without caps. Deeper rears and shallow fronts. I used them on my -36 rpu.
