Dr. Cranky Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 The clock is ticking. Keep 'em going, folks. Here's my progress so far:
kennb Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) Well...I think I salvaged this one. I ran to Wally's and got some Krylon Ivory to try. I went to get white but the Ivory called me and said "this is what you are looking for". So I went ahead and sanded the sticky paint down, taped it off again and shot it. Dry in 20 minutes. . I am going to let it sit until 5 and retape the plum and shoot that. The chassis is basic black and i chromes the exhaust. The engine was paint plum to match the body. Lots of chrome goodies that came in the kit affixed to the painted block. I had to redo the rear of the chassis and drop it 1/8" so I could get some depth to the box. That invovled redoing the frame section, the springs and the shocks. All for now KennB Edited January 16, 2012 by kennb
mrm Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Wow !!! Everyone is moving along great. Last night I got lost ib cyberspace, searching for reference pictures for my shotgun setup and lost a lot of time. Got done with the clear coat at 4:30am. I have everything set up to finish this build tonight, but what worries me is if the clear would be fully cured. It is polyurethane, but still. Usually I give it 72hours before I hit it with wax or sandpaper. Really great job everyone. See you again at the finish line.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 Kenn, I love the colors. Your build is coming along very nice. Keep going, there's almost less than 9 hours to Midnight! Here's my painted body:
