Dr. Cranky Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Oh wow, what a beauty of a Corvette. Nice job.
Ira Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 This was GREAT FUN Dr.! Thank YOU! Here are some photos of SPACE BANDIT on the new display stand!
Dr. Cranky Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Ira, it's a classic. I love it. You should build a simple base for it, like a half planet stand or something. Very cool indeed. And the sparkly color is perfect.
jeffs396 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 WOW!!! There's some real QUALITY here as well as quantity, whether you finished or not! Good stuff all of you! Congrats on a job well done! Hopefully another 3-dayer will take place in the future, and with some advanced notice, there should be a larger group of paticipants!
mrm Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 If there is another one, I'll be making something considerably simpler.
Wagoneer81 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Count me in for the next one... Maybe the vertigo will lay off this time... I would have finished that little 'Vette had it not hit me so hard...
Dr. Cranky Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Oh man, vertigo sucks, I had it last year and it landed me in the ER. Wishing you well.
Dominik Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 (edited) [...]Thanks, John, I am not surprised that so many builders joined the build and created such wonderful models. This forum is just THAT kind of place. The talent and energy here can fuel the next space shuttle flight.[...] True words Doc, true words. The red Impala looks so beautiful that i can not believe, that it took only three days to build! ALL models came great out! It doesnt matter, to look at the "mountainDew", Hotrod, TranAm, 58 Impala, flying blue "pontiacthing" (<- forgott the name) or your creation Doc...they look all awesome My deep respect to you "crazy modellers" *thumps up* Edited January 18, 2012 by Dominik
Dr. Cranky Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Thanks, Dominik. I am very happy that so many builders rose to the challenge and answered the CALL FOR MORE STYRENE!
Wagoneer81 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Oh man, vertigo sucks, I had it last year and it landed me in the ER. Wishing you well. Thanks Doc, it landed me in the ER a couple months ago too... My Doctors' have narrowed the cause down to either Blood Pressure or an inner ear problem... I had trouble with both at the same time so it was difficult for them to figure out what was doing what... I'll take the advice I know you'd give... "Take two whiffs of fresh styrene and call me in the morning..." HAH!
Raul_Perez Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Virgil, Well I guess that I'm too late for this 3 day build...but then it usually takes me about 6 months just to get the box open Great work by all who participated!! Thanks for sharing,
Dr. Cranky Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Raul (and anyone else who is interested), you are not too late. You can add your 3-DAY build here once you build your model in 3 days. Just set the clock and go!
Raul_Perez Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Thanks, Virgil...but I'm still working on a curbside resin kit that I started in March... It takes me 3 days just to figure out what colors I want to use. Keep up the GREAT work!! I'm looking forward to your next book!!

Rob McKee Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I would do this again in a heartbeat. It was fun and challenging but now I have a completed model for 2012. That is 1 more than I had last year.
Ira Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) Ira, it's a classic. I love it. You should build a simple base for it, like a half planet stand or something. Very cool indeed. brett Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Its in the drag sectioin but I built this in the three days after you started Doc
Dr. Cranky Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 Beautiful model, Brett. Amazing for only three days. Well, it goes to show you that when you can find uninterrupted blocks of time (holiday weekends are perfect) you are quite capable of adding another wonderful vehicle to your collection.
Rob McKee Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Really nice funny car Brett. 3 days is tough but you make it look easy.
