ismaelg Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Hello, I have a Hasegawa Miura SV I would like to work on. It seems the engine is not visible at all once finished. Is it possible to build it without the engine? Maybe build the engine out in a stand or something... From the instructions it seems the engine is used to support suspension components. I need to take a closer look at it but thought of asking just in case anyone has gone thru this before.... Thanks
Zoom Zoom Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 It's a gorgeous kit builtup, but it's a glorified curbside. If you shine a light through the louvers you see something under there, but in reality you can't see anything from the built model and the engine cover doesn't open. You see a lot more from underneath. Therefore you are free to do whatever you like w/what there is of the engine; IIRC it's not a full engine. Miura SV painted w/ Cobra Colors Ferrari Grigio Alloy:
LVZ2881 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 thanks for that info as well....I have the Jota kit in my stash....
ismaelg Posted May 28, 2007 Author Posted May 28, 2007 Thanks Bob! I thought so. Your Miura is beautiful. You won't believe me, but I actually thought of that color scheme for mine  Now I need to come up with a different one  Thanks,
LDO Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Ismael- Try "Blu Tahiti". Go read the Miura thread at Ferrarichat.com. Blu Tahiti is very similar to the blue seen so often on '69 Camaros. You'll see lots of color combos and even a photo of leather samples. Check out ZN75, the one and only Miura roadster (more like a targa). Also visit Joe Sackey's website.
simonr Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Well, here you can see some pictures of mine. As it was told by zoom zoom, it so less you can see under that louver that it doesn't worth it to spend some time to detail the upper part of the engine. A t the bottom it's another story, but, anyway there's not much to see, like a Tamiya or a Fujimi enthusiast kit. What I did was to cut the edges of that louver window and glue it at the inside of the body so I could use it as small bas to place it and it could be removable aswell. To me, just detail the underneath and leave it with the window place on. I like that look better. Here you can see what can be see of the engine. Engine from the underside. Engine pictures.
