So I got to thinking today, and yes it was scary.

I was thinking about body work and pondering different techniques others use and techniques that I use that others may benefit from.

One of the things with model building that takes a model to a higher level is removing body seam lines.

I have found a really cheap way to address this.

What I do is I get a sharpie and scribble along the seam lines making sure to cover both sides of the seam. When I go to sand them off, I make sure to sand on the seam lines until the sharpie is sanded away on both sides of the line. To make sure the body doesn't look goofy from over sanding some areas, make sure to sand along the entire seam to maintain the body lines.

If you do this then you know there aren't any raised lines where the seam lines were.

This is a pic with the front mold lines marked and the rear ones sanded smooth.

I use flex pad sanding sticks, starting with coarse to medium to fine, so I won't see any sanding marks in the primer stage.

So what kinds of tricks do you guys have?

Keep in mind that this thread would be all about the many different techniques with body work, not just addressing seam lines.

For example, if somebody here is good at removing ejector pin markings, maybe they have a trick to remove them, even when they are in a textured area.. Maybe there is a tip to reproduce the texture effect!

This thread is all about all tips and tricks and tools used for all things body work related. It can be novice and advanced. It could be cleaning up the trim and prepping it for foil.. seriously if anybody has something they want to share, this is the place to do it!

My favorite bodywork tools are the nail files from the beauty department at Walgreens, Target, etc. They're about $1.59 each, have a semi-firm foam center, and have 220/320 grits on either side.
