Sergey Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Hello to everyone! I would like to buy Kenworth Bubblenose resin. It is sold out on Soucraut's, so I searched for the manufacturer and found two: http://apps.aitruckmodels.com/Gallery/album.cfm?a=8735 http://www.aussieresinmodels.com/16/large-coe/Could Could you explain me please which resin is better, or may be it is the same? Regards, Sergey
Jim B Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 If it we're me, I'd get the Bullnose Kenworth from Illini Replica Conversions. Photo Details: .
mackinac359 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Illini originated these. I'm not sure if the Aussie sellers is re-selling the AITM and Illini castings or casting their own versions but they appear to be the same trans-kits. Tim
Sergey Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 Friends, what is the meaning of term "dobhouse"? I just foud a historical review about this truck. They say "The dobhouse on these trucks was readily removable, and not a part of the structure of the cab".
TUFF TIN Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 The "Doghouse" is the engine cover between the seats. Not sure on KW but the early Freightliner the cab didn't tilt and you needed access to the motor this way. Mike
clayton Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 ever try to sleep across one on hot Summer night with no ac wow,
Sergey Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 One more question: May be anyone knows - What are those lugs (on top of the cab) for?
Truck parts Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Yes Clayton, I did try to sleep across the dog house one night. The truck had a sleeper, but it was cooler to lay across the dog house with the windows down. Didn't get a lot of sleep that night.
mackinac359 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 The term "doghouse" refers to the engine tunnel because it was reminscent of a dog house. Tim
Sergey Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 So were did you get the cab from? I have got it from Illini Replica Conversions. By the way, thanks to Dave for cooperation. Thanks to everyone who answered.
BigBad Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 (edited) Sergey, have a look at the Neo-Seminole Kenworths post under the 1:1 Reference theme, I posted some pictures of a nice Bullnose Kenworth that has been meticulously restored not too long ago. Edited February 18, 2012 by Z06Bob
mardtrp Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Better buy the Bullnose Kenworth from Illini Replica Conversions. The other A#$%HOLE from Ballarat, Australia, is a thief and is copying anything he can lay his hands on. To all the casters that do not copy other peoples work, well, this t-u-r-d is shafting you real good.
