JB_Hobbies Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Hello guys, been working on this, it took two 95 dodge snap kits for the body, scratch built the chassis...Still A LOT to do! Thanks for the look, JB
Fabrux Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Looks good! Might've been easier to start with a Lindberg monster truck, though...
Dr. Cranky Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Nice work on that chassis, and the wheels are beautiful too. This is going to be a wonderful model.
RodneyBad Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Looking Great. Can't wait to see more of it..
MoparWoman Jamie Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Love builds like this! You got my attention!
Chris guthro Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Amazing! what did you use for the frame?
JB_Hobbies Posted January 28, 2012 Author Posted January 28, 2012 Thanks guys for the nice comments. Kataranga, I love the challenge of scratch building my owe chassis, the monster truck chassis would've probably worker though. DR. Those wheels are from Jim at micronitro.....All I can say...there simply awesome! I will be adding brass lug nuts & valve stem detail The chassis is made up from brass & aluminum tubing, with sprinkled in plastic for good measure! I'm not a big WIP kinda guy, so this is my first ( I usually just build, build, build with no pics), but I'm trying to slow down & take a few pics. Hope you like, Here's a little progress scratch dash: Front end, with mounted pumpkin, & aluminum u-joints, & a peek at the aluminum coil overs: And another quick mock up: Thanks, JB
Chris guthro Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 that dash looks cool! i like the brass idea for the tube chassis!
Romell R Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Good job on this truck man love the chassis work. the dash looks good too but I think you would do your build more justice if you make the gauge cluster from scratch instead of the decal, just my opinion do your thang man!
JB_Hobbies Posted January 28, 2012 Author Posted January 28, 2012 The gauge cluster is scratch, is has PE bezels with 5 min epoxy "glass", just can't see it in the photo.
