Lownslow Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 i wanna convert time to as ""stock"" as possible im using the tbird bucket for the interior but the chassie is way too big. from wheel to wheel its exactly 5 inches what i wanna know is whats the wheel to wheel on a early 90s amt mustang kit
martinfan5 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I want to say the the mustang wheel base may to short
Tony T Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I used the T-Bird Turbo Coupe chassis...I had to cut a bit at the rear and along the sides to make it fit with the LSC body. I did a body/chassis swap between the two kits (wheels on the Lincoln are the customs from a Cougar kit)
Chuck Most Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 I stretched the front subframe on an SN-95 Mustang ('94-04 style) to match up the wheelbase- you'd still need to modify the area behind the rear axle to match up with the rear bumper. Keep in mind the body on the Revell kit is a bit shorter than it should be- Revell modified the Mark VII's body proportions to fit the earlier Matt Hay Thunderbird pro street kit chassis.
Eshaver Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 I dunno about the kits , but the actual car shared most of it's Mercury Cougar and Ford Thunderbird parts in real life . My former business partner owned such a car and I would have to work on it's air bags often ................. Ed Shaver
Casey Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Didn't All American Models do this conversion in resin? I still see them on eBay occasionally, so that is another option.
Eshaver Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Casey, as I remember a picture of that body from years ago, it seemed O K to me . Problem is , All American is no mo ........... and Evil Bay is , well........................ Evil . Ed Shaver
