This is a beautiful slot car body kit from Germany in 1/24 scale. It was produced by Karl Heinz Hornberg. I had a great time painting this car. I pinned the etched wing parts with rivets. This will keep everything together if it comes off the track. I glued the front windshield in and used rivets (no glue) to hold the side windows in along with the headlight lens. This will help big time with not poping the windows. I highly recommend Karl Heinz Hornberg slot body kits.

that's what it was built for brothers. I've put a lot of clear on this car so it will hold up. I think the key is not to come off the track ;) Thanks for the kind comments lads...

Very cool Slot Car! That engine looks good, even if it's only the top half. Paintjob and all of that bodywork looks good too.

The chassis is a kit made in Germany by "Motor Modern". It is totally adjustable so it will fit a variety of bodies. There is a whole hobby built up in Germany racing cars just as detailed as this Lola, (Although not as nicely as this one) and they race the snot out of them for one race. Concours first and then race. After-which the owner polishes up the winner and it goes onto the shelf. Damage happens but rarely. This is the chassis they use, but with faster motors of course.

P.S. Beautiful work Chris, I see that you have pushed the bar higher yet again!

It's a really beautiful slot car! My fellow countryman and racer Jo Bonnier used to race an identical car. On his car, the sponsor was BonGrip, instead of KenGrip. I think he had something to do with those tire studs, that we use in our winter tires. Yes I have studded tires on my car.

So who's Ken anyway...?

This is one of the chassis avaliable. I have one just like it in a Corvair. The really hot chassis is one from Slotracing Werk, made by Mattias Parke. It's made of brass and carbon fiber, and costs a bundle too. About 150 bucks! I attended a race last April just outside Stockholm, and those cars were incredibly fast! Here's a link to his website, showing the chassis I mentioned:

Did you use the kit tires? What did you use for wheels. I have one of the Lola Spyder kits from them and was thinking of building a curb side.

Thanks

This is a good site. Thanks... You can't beat a multi adjustable chassis.

Thanks again the cool remarks
