Dr. Cranky Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I agree, the color is NICE. Two tone with white?
Lownslow Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Love the stock body color on a gasser idea. Btw how is that 928 kit in the backround? Is it worth the price tag? its great im thinking of buying a second one when the funds are right, its 80s so expect 80s detail it was once motorized but you cant tell after its built. I agree, the color is NICE. Two tone with white? i was gonna do white but now im between black and off white

Dr. Cranky Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 I didn't think of the black, that might actually work very well, Frank.

Lownslow Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 (edited) i didnt want a white white so i mixed classic white with sand beige to get a off white Edited February 4, 2012 by Lownslow
Modlbldr Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Frank- That is amazing work on a kit that is such a piece! I'm sure you know what I mean. I had two of them given to me years ago and the detail was so bad that I thought it was only good for a replica of a fiberglass drag car body. So I used the second kit to stretch the body behind the front wheel wells. That's as far as I got!! Yours is going to look great. Later-
Lownslow Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 yeah that sucker was a chore only thing i left alone was the hood because its bad enough to look glassed
rmvw guy Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I can't wait to see what you do with the suspention. I agree, this kit is a piece of work. After building one I turned two of them over to my kids to make glue bombs. Some how I ended up with one more still on the shelf. There might still be hope I'll be watching. I like what you've done so far. It really dosen't look bad as a Gasser but, definately needs some slicks.
Lownslow Posted February 26, 2012 Author Posted February 26, 2012 some updates i lost half the engine so im using the 427 from the 39 chevy kit. im keeping the same tires sprayed them testors laquer flat black.
Lownslow Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 almost done i decided to just go with a straight up build to make room on the progress shelf
Guest Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I love the color combo you came up with for this build!! I have some of this color in the stash. What did you use to cover the rear seat area?
Guest Johnny Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Sweet! Love the color combo! As bad as it is I love this kit for some reason. I have buily at least 8 in differenr configurations for other people over the years!
tooltas Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 hope u know that kit is the old tom danal 's badman gasser that was in yellow,
Chris M Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Great job on the "stock" appearing paint for a gasser, I love the color combo, and actually picked up a can of this paint on a whim at my LHS this past trip, nice to see it before I crack it open on something. Also, I have a half dozen of these kits for some reason, Not even sure how I ended up with them. LOL
Kustom Rodder Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Looks really good cant wait to see it detailed out and finished.
