DANB Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Hey guys, first post on this forum, and may i say what a great forum at that. Ive sort of recently got back into building model cars again, so has the old man lol. Anyway i finnished this one not so long ago, Its the Revell 2 in one kit, i chose the track look with the Hemi. Im very happy with the outcome after idk how many years out of the hobby haha. Its sort of inspired my one of my REAL project cars. I should of waited till daylight for better pics, i still might. And this is the ispiration to get back into the hobby, my 75 VK Chrysler, Hemi 265. Any tips or even friendly critisism is apreciated, i look foreward to using this forum more and reading up on all the great builds out there. Cheers. Daniel.
trogdor Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Looks nice. A set of plug wires would make a world of difference under the hood.
DANB Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Yeh, ive never done them before and still dont know how to do them! I looked in the tech section for a how to but coulndnt find a thread.
george 53 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 A 265 HEMI???? Gotta be an Oz car! They's the ONLY folks cool enough to build somethin like that! Came out nice, BUT, an this is JUST ME, the color tends to blend EVERYTHING together. A little bit of contrasting color woulda given it a bit more zip. But it came out REAL nice. Nice clean building style an very well done.
Duntov Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Hi Daniel: This is a very nice car... you did a great job on it... one suggestion... you can use some sand paper or a sanding stick to lightly sand the surface of the slicks... this will remove the seam and the casting stub and give the tire a slightly used look... works great... give it a try next time.... Very nice build....!!!! Regards Bill (Duntov)
rmvw guy Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Welcome to the forum! I say just have fun and use some of the tips you see here. The free ones are the best!
Modlbldr Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Daniel- Welcome back to the hobby. Your Dart looks ready to fly! Your work is nice and clean. The only criticisms are the two already listed and to sand the lettering off of the chassis under the rear axle next time. You picked a winner to do for your first build back. I love this kit. Your Chrysler VK is pretty killer too. Later-
