I have read on here all the stories about Don Yost and his videos. How some of you guys purchased his videos and said all these great things about him. And that in no way he paid you to say those things or gave you anything.Well I purchased both of his DVD's. I watched them all. Then I went out and painted a 69 Camaro. I followed all his steps,And in the dvd he says ( If you follow all these steps your paint jobs will be 85% better).Well i am here to tell you he lied, My paint jobs are 100% better. Now I guess I am one of those people that would recomend that you get these and watch them too. I can't wait to use some more of his tips and see what the build turns out. For the most part this paint is flawless and turned out just the way I wanted ittest002.jpg

That is great to see someone following a video and coming up with great results. I've seen the first video and haven't yet had the chance to set up the proper environment to airbrush. I hope to rectify that this summer. Nice job, Chris!

whats the detailing one like?...i was going to get both but i want to start with the airbrushing one first...if the detail one is what i think then i may just get the airbrushing one?

I wont give any of his secrets away. But there is alot of things on the video that are very useful. I would recomend that if you are going to order them just get them both.I new some of the things on there form my father who built them all the way up until his passing . But there are things i think myDad would have been useing if he new about it.

Chris, a quick question, is that body already sanded and buffed, or is that the way it looks right out of the paint booth after the 3 days of gassing out?

Chris !

Way to go , Kid ! That is something to behold . Smooth as silk , nice color , laid down just right ! Here's another "lie " , the more you practice , the better the paintwork will turn out ! Lol !

As Pap always said , " Visibility lends to credibility " . If it counts for anything , Chris , The Old Man is proud of you !

Gunk ! No! Gloss ! No ! Gunk ! That screamin' and yellin' , bout made The Old Man deaf !

Bwahahah ! Ain't I just full of it today ! Oh , by the way ! Virgil ! You owe me some shine yourself ! Pick your butt up outta that gunk pit you love to play in , clean yourself up , and get to work on some shine like you promised !

Cuz the Old Man said so !

You better believe it. I'm lining up some of these shiny builds to start finish them pronto. Expect eye candy soon. One build at a time, and a bright (and shiny) smile! :D

Jim (and Donn), if we lived near by we could sponsor a couple of little league baseball teams. The RUSTYS vs The SHINEYS! That'd be something, wouldn't it? Jim and Donn coach the SHINEYS and EYEGORE and I will coach the RUSTYS!

I'd pay to see that!

We'd get thrown outta the league for too many bench clearing brawls !

Started on the interior for the ' 62 Impala , just about finished it , seatbelts and it's a wrap !

'47 Chevy needs a motor and frame , getting there !

Hey Doc - we live in FLA. It's Donn that lives away from us. Do kids still play little league baseball? Seems like the kids around here are more into soccer. Not me! I used to play ice hockey in grade school, high school, and college. Even went to Stan Makita's wedding in Berwyn, IL and met Bobby Hull, Mike Ditka, Glenn Hall, and a bunch of other Chicago sports figures. What a game - razor blades on your feet and a club in your hands. I only lost a couple of teeth and got quite a few stitches during my playing years.

How's the weather done there? Going into the 20s here. I spent most of the afternoon covering my more valuable plants and re-timed the pool so it comes on at 2:00am. ###### cold weather!

I have the painting dvd , it's great

I wish I could get more detail on the Don Yost model Construction 2 disc set ,,..

all I know that it covers is bare metal foil ,sanding tires and swapping motors, but is it mostly aftermarket parts driven or does it teach some scratch building techniques?

at 4hrs I wish there was an index to see.

or does it include the painting tutorals also ?
