paulpaints Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Just learning how to rust and wearther stuff
Dr. Cranky Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Very cool, you are definitely focusing on where the real vehicles would get lots of rust. Rusting and weathering are fun, so it's great to see others doing it. Keep it going. Oh, and I find it very interesting you started with a painted body already. I think this build is headed in the right direction. Keep it going.
Jantrix Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Keep it going. Oh, and I find it very interesting you started with a painted body already. I ain't sayin' nothin'. LOL!
paulpaints Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 If you look at civic I posted I'm just starting out again.. this model was put together when i was prob 14. Im just trying new things on these old things. the paint is thin since it wasn't even primed before paint.. I've been checking out the tutorials and other websites to help me out. I know right now my details arent spot on but I'll get there. I've got to lay down some prim coats and some rust color. I want to have it coming through the paint and everything. I know I'm not a pro :P
LoneWolf15 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I ain't sayin' nothin'. Hmmm , I wonder why ? Lol !
paulpaints Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 update I decided to take the doors out and make them hinge I need to get down to the store to buy some stuff but its snowing in pa right now... so winter just finally showed up. I think I'll be trying the hair spray trick with some acrylic paint. I want to do a red like the car was. I want to use the sophisticated finish iron and rust combo and see how that turns out also i'll be using some eye make up I've seen used on other projects.
paulpaints Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 oh yah i understand its a YENKO.... LOL
paulpaints Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 Thought Id throw an update on this car! I so far have layed the rust down than hair spray, now tonight I put on the acrylic paint. Tomorrow when I get up I have to rub it off with a wet sponge and get that rust coming on through the piant.
