Steve Prideaux Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 When did Slixx Decals, give notice, that they weren't doing decals any longer??? Truely a great!!! loss!!! steve Prideaux
1320wayne Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 February 1st was the date they made the official announcement and yes, it is a big hit to the hobby as a whole.
Steve Prideaux Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 Thanks, Wayne, I appreciate the info. I hope it isn't too late to stockup. Steve
Dr. Cranky Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Nope, I just ordered a whole bunch of the sheets. They are going to be around until they sell out their stock.
Sixx Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 That figures, I'm tapped out for supplies, shoot, by the time I get some dough, they'll be out! That's my luck!
caine440 Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I ordered 5 sheets and 3 arrived yesterday. One was back ordered the other sold out.
Chris in Berwyn Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 I got my order the other day. Their work is so great - such a loss to the hobby. Chris
crowe-t Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 This is the first I've heard of this. Is Slixx going out of business? Is there any chance of anyone else taking over Slixx decal business?
iBorg Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 I don't think the Sizemores are interested in selling. Of course, this is a great way to pare down the inventory for a new buyer. I got most of the decals I'd been putting off. Just didn't get a couple.
Truck parts Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 That would be nice if someone could buy it.
Alan Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) That prob. will not happen. I talked with them about it and the licensing expires with them, so one would have to start from scratch. Another thing, if they can not continue to make a go of it after 20 years, what makes you think someone else would. It is all about our depressed economy. They said sales have contiually been declining to the point where it was costing them money .... not sustainable. It was a good run while it lasted Edited March 3, 2012 by Alan
