Patrick, you can mix a little bit of india ink and 50-50 alcohol water and use that.

But, there are also wonderful weathering solutions out there the likes of AK-INTERACTIVE "black wash" and Vallejo Acrylics offers a wonderful black was too.

I like to use Citadel washes, these are available through Games Workshop stores and come in various colors, this is the one I use the most and the one this engine has.

I like the fact that it goes on very light so you can opt to stop any time you think you have enough wash on the part. It's also very thin and not as thick as the detailer.

Pretty cool Cruz...can you give us a quick tutorial? I've wanted to try this but have been unsure how to do it.

The tutorial was written on my last post! It's as simple as just adding the wash to the part and just go from there. You will notice that it goes on very light since it is very thin, you add as you go until you are happy with the results. On the valve covers you see, I added at least 3 light coats because of the small ridges they have. On the intake manifold I probably have 2 coats to create a little contrast. The carbs and fuel pump have one heavy coat and some drybrushing with Rub n Buf. That's basically it, you have to go out, purchase a small bottle and try it. ;)
