71 sublime green cuda

title says it all... got this as a xmas present from my sister and started reading reviews about the kit... it really is as bad as everyone says... minimal decals, terrible fit (bumpers), wrong proportions... i gave it the old best try though and this is what i got from it... looks good on the shelf... one good thing i learded with this kit is to BMF the side reflectors and paint them with clear amber and red.. once you clear it they look like they are reflecting... ill do it on all my kits from here on

sure, its an old kit, but still one of my favorites

and it does look great in that colour

kudos on the decals, very nice job cutting the doors out

now, this is what i dont get..the decals show a good eye for detail BUT the spoiler and the louvers still show where it was attached to the sprue when you painted it

i expect to see that addressed on your next build

on a side note, looking at your screen name, do the words "market garden" mean anything to you ?

haha... im bastogne all the way... 6 years in 1st brigade... well i appreciate the tips and ive addressed them with a touch of paint... didnt even see that... lol... as for the red on the seats i used a small sponge to replicate the houndstooth pattern available in 71

im gonna be honoust with you, i have no idea what that means (well, i know what the bastogne in france is and the famous storming of it in bla-bla-bla)

i remember being a little kid, 12 years old maybe and learning about operation market garden...but that took place 500 miles from the bastogne

glad you managed to fix those little marks on the spoiler

its little bits like that that really make or break a model

That looks great, the green is stunning.

I didn't know it was a bad kit, I hadn't read any reviews. Don't feel so bad now about the fit issues I had. It probably wasn't me.
