realgone58 Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Grabbed this one off the Bay, moulded in black, pretty much a glue bomb, but not to the point it could'nt be fixed. Sanded off mould lines, smoothed out some dimples, and sprayed in a classic champagne/brown two tone, with painted silver trim around windows and chrome foil on the side trim. I flipped the Dunlops inside out and they had a nice line moulded on to do wide whites. Did these with flat latex house paint, three or four coats and it comes out convincing. Wish I could have found a little cleaner glass for it though.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 It turned out real nice. I love the collection in the background.
sjordan2 Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Very nice job on a low-detail kit that has a good body shape but not much else. Interesting how your wide whitewalls make the too-small tires look right.
mr moto Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 That's a great looking build!! The old promo style kits can make a beautiful display model with just a little TLC.
Eshaver Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I have the Academy Mini Craft re-pop of that car. Now , I just need to get motivated such as you and build it . I must say old Chap, stunning ! Ed Shaver

CorvairJim Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 (edited) What's the green car on the second shelf? That would be a Jo-Han '74 Olds Cutlass. Edited February 29, 2012 by CorvairJim
hotrod59f100 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Its definitely got eye appeal . Did you ever do a under glass of it . If not please do . Is that rolls a silver cloud?
realgone58 Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 Yes, the Rolls is a Silver Cloud II. The green GM is a '74 Cutlass promo. I'll pop a few pics of it on here. Thanks guys, for all the great comments.
