Anybody have any problems with the Chrome on the latest Issue of the Bill Signs Peterbuilt ?

Contact Revell of Germany about this. They should replace the chrome trees free of charge. Apparently there was an issue during manufacturing.

We got to talking about this the other night in chat. I opened my kit that I purchased and it was screwed up. All 4 trees. Did you experience the same thing?

I had the same issue, got replacements from Revell but the quality of the chrome was only slightly better. I will strip the chrome and use Alcald instead. Contact Revell and they will send a replacement set out to you.

Me personally? No, I haven't purchased this kit, but several people on this Forum (and others) have and that's what they did.

I've done this with decals from Revell of Germany, and it can take up to 12 weeks.

I have yet to purchase a RoG kit that didn't have terrible chrome plating. Maybe with the new ownership the chrome issues will be taken care of prior to release.

I have seen some bad stuff from Revell, but I guess I got lucky

'cause I have Bill Signs, "353" Western Life and the Can-Do wrecker and the chrome trees are all good.

But, as most will agree and also do, the chrome can, and probably should be replaced by a coat

of alclad chrome or bumper chrome paint to get a more realistic look.

My set of chrome trees is so - so. But it goes away with a touch of a finger. One of the front discs shows bare plastic in the middle. I won´t bother writing RoG for replacement. I always replace the chrome half-parts like the fuel tanks, the exhaust pipes and such with the alclad. The RoG were always cooperative when I needed any replacement. But this time I believe I can handle the problem by myself.

But I found the tires far from being satisfactory. Not only they are slightly bigger than the rims but they almost fall apart too. I never encountered anything like this before but the tires seem to be made of layers and they separate willingly. I just finished putting them on the wheels and it was heluva job.

Seems like a real shame considering how much the Bill Signs kit costs.

ROG better get their act together soon. These kits are way too expensive to get bad quality parts. Round2 does way better at a fraction of the price. Even better than the original AMT kits!
