kruleworld Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 The movie is about a young fella in the late 1970s, partaking in life's pleasures of Cars, Girls and Booze. it's a glimpse into australian life at the time (1970s).This is the Protagonist's Holden in the movie before he fixes it up. It's a typical young person's ride, not much to look at but something to learn to drive in and escape the boredom of suburbia and do a bit of street racing. Later in the movie, he paints it canary yellow. The model is ADR resin kit. i didn't bother to detail it. i just mimicked the 'work-in-progress' paint job. i had to fabricate a rear parcel shelf since they either missed it or never included one. interior is sprayed in Vinyl brown paint. i added the number plates NSW BAD-781 by printing onto photo paper from MS Word.

kruleworld Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 preety cool - the moto fly rims can be found in alot of mpc kits? if your looking yes, i'd like to find correct rims. any ideas?
Jantrix Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Great subject and real good work. Comparing the model to the photo, I think the primers need to be distressed more. Some 1000 grit maybe?
Kris Morgan Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 yes, i'd like to find correct rims. any ideas? I can cast you a set of wheels if you like. Send me a pm if you are interested.
jbwelda Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 that is a super kool model and concept. i lived in australia in late 70s and it is fun to reminisce about that time when i see that car. those wheels are amazingly halibrand like arent they? maybe a bit more deep dished and just a bit awkward looking but very similar look. thanks for sharing your build; i found it very interesting! i take it its a curbside, no motor?
Modelbuilder Mark Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Very cool, I like oddbal subjects like that
