Cool Hand Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) I started this build in Dr Cranky's 3 day CB,but due to uncontrolled situations I was unable to complete it within the 3 days. So In the end I took my time and this is the result. Paint is my all time favourite Tamiya TS-14 gloss black. Interior was painted with Tamiya TS-49 bright red and overcoated with TS-80 flat clear. Basically its oob, just lowered a bit, Pegasus 1109 chrome Dz's wheels were fitted and used craft rhine stones for tail lights. I would have to say this is one of the best Revell kits ive built in a long time, minimal mold lines and parts fit was excellent which made it a joy to build. Edited March 3, 2012 by Cool Hand

montelsc Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Whats not to love about this one great looking build beautiful!!!!
Dr. Cranky Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Luke, you've added another beautiful model to your collection! Black is perfect! Always back in black, I hope you keep coming back to serve us more eye candy. Congrats.
Guest Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Excellent work as always Luke!! Do you clear your paint, polish it out or both? It's always slick as glass whatever you do.
mikemodeler Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 one word- BEAUTIFUL! Black is such a perfect color for these old Chevies and yours looks perfect! While I am not a lowrider fan, this one has a great stance and those wheels are just right for that deep black paint. Clean details and nice color choices.
Rob McKee Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Luke, The red interior looks great with that flawless paint work. Great car!
Burnout Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 That's reallly beautiful! I'm currently building up my own version of the same kit. You have set the bar pretty high. Very nice foil work. How did you do the trim that runs along the side? It's difficult to tell from the photos. Is it foil or a combination of foil/paint? It doesn't look like the kit decals. Thanks, KB
Cool Hand Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Thankyou for all the comments much appreciated Do you clear your paint, polish it out or both? It's always slick as glass whatever you do. No clear, no polishing. The finish is straight from the can. As they say preparation of the primer is the key factor,I wet sand the primer(Tamiya fine white) with 1200 up to 6000. How did you do the trim that runs along the side? It's difficult to tell from the photos. Is it foil or a combination of foil/paint? It doesn't look like the kit decals. Thanks, KB Side trim is bmf and kit decal. I cut off the silver part on the side trim decals then applied the white portion .
mopar68 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Another super sweet, super clean build. Love the engine bay, so tidy! Can we get a closer pic of that please?
Darbo Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Awesome build, i agree that it's one of the best kits revell have made.
Chris guthro Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 i dont like the lowriderr wheels, but thats one clean and sharp looking build! a set of ralleys or something. but this is your build and you knocked it out of the park, great job!
