JMD904 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I wanna build a wicked custom, just gotta find the right engine! I want something with lots of flashy chrome and is V8 of the late 50's vintage appeal. Maybe a 3 duece set up or something non-supercharged.
Harry P. Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 How wicked do you want to get? Allison wicked? It's completely chromed.
drball Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I would suggest the Revell parts packs for some nice and period correct engines that were released a decade or so ago. They are plentiful for reasonable prices.
Sam Cates Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 You could go AMT Allison or try one of the Revell parts pak engines, the entire engines are chrome. SBC 283 Cadillac 354 Pontiac 421 Ford 427
Ramfins59 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 The '34 Ford Pickup kit has a chromed T'Bird engine...

Harry P. Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Where the heck is Yulee, FL? It doesn't show up on my Atlas. I'm in Citrus County near Dummellon and Ocala. It's just a few miles north of Jacksonville. Mapquest is your friend...
crazyjim Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I've only used Mapquest to get directions to make sure the GPS is working correctly.
Chris M Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I <3 the revell parts pack engines, The can be found on evil bay, in packs of four for 9.95 plus free shipping from "rthesz" I've purchased numerous parts packs motors from them, They even include a handwritten note with each sale.
MikeMc Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Have to agree........The Parts pack Caddie or pontiac...lots of options, blown multi carbed.......downsides are the exhaust manifolds.....

Jantrix Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 The '34 Ford Pickup kit has a chromed T'Bird engine... Yep, the vintage AMT kit came with a REAL nice tri-powered y-block fully chromed out. I'm not sure if the Lindberg version of this kit still comes with it.
randx0 Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 The AMT 60 ford starliner has a really detailed engine that has a 3 carb set up. a good one if you are going for detail.
boss 302 mustang Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 (edited) The '34 Ford 390 is an FE, not a Y-block Edited March 6, 2012 by boss 302 mustang
