ewaskew Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Very cool custom build man Black or Red would be my color for this if I was building it.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 The body work is coming along, this one is definitely going to look different.
Foxer Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 The more I look, the more I believe those beautifully shaped rear fenders belong here than on the mixed up mess they came off of.
Trans Am Erik Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 Thanks for the encouragement guys. I'm a lot happier with the profile now that I shortened the rear fenders. I feel that it has a more balanced look. Next I need to find a front valance that compliments the look of the Merc. Instead of a cruiser sled I think the car has more of a pro touring muscle car feel. What do you guys think?
deathskull59 Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 wow that thing was ugly before and it starting to look good now looks pretty cool.
Trans Am Erik Posted April 14, 2012 Author Posted April 14, 2012 Found a front valance! I wanted a modern big mouth look to the grille. This came fron the Dodge Sidewinder pick-up concept.
Trans Am Erik Posted April 14, 2012 Author Posted April 14, 2012 The new valance needs work. I'm going to give the top edge a lip and fill in that awkword relief on the bottom. The lip
Trans Am Erik Posted April 14, 2012 Author Posted April 14, 2012 Smooth look for the bottom edge of the valance
Trans Am Erik Posted April 16, 2012 Author Posted April 16, 2012 So I ditched my previous trunk design in leiu of one.
Trans Am Erik Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 For the tail lights I am going to try to fabricate a set of 2012 Chrysler 300 tails
Jantrix Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Erik, I'd like to see you do some work making those two body lines merge.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Anxious to see more. I'm always amazed at how easy some of you make chopping up vehicles and doing these types of conversions. Keep it going, please.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I can't wait to see how all this body work is going to come together.
crazyjim Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 How the heck did I miss this build? I won't anymore. Build looks fabulous. Keep it going.
Trans Am Erik Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 Thanks you guys. I'm looking forward to starting the putty work.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Sling on the putty, I can wait to see it smooth and sleek and ready for the paint. Fabulous.
