SpikeSchumacher Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 While not auto related, this for me is my "pride & joy" model. Built for my late father-in-law as a birthday present. Looking at it now there are things I would have done differently/better, but at the time this was where my modeling skills were at....
Austin T Posted March 19, 2012 Author Posted March 19, 2012 Man this all looks great guys,Maybe this will be as big as the What did you get today" post.
RodneyBad Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 (edited) Awesome Corsiar.. Spike I love the work ya put into it and my fav Plane. Amazing work.. Edited March 21, 2012 by RodneyBad
Agent G Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Thank you Ron! I considered that build a true "labor of love". Mathias that is a fine Corsair. You really captured the essence of VF 17 operating from a jungle strip. G
jmpsebring Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 My pirate girl was taken down. Yes it did show a single breast. Sorry if someone found a pea-size breast so offensive....
Roncla Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 My Pocher Alfa gives me the most satisfaction as it fought me from start to finish and I end up getting the better of it. The fit and finish of the parts for what was called a premium kit was a shock after being bought up on a diet of japanese kits. If it wasn't for my little Emco Unimat 3 lathe with all its attachments I never could have finished it.
Dr. Cranky Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Lordy, this thread is pure gold and eye candy. Thank you and I hope everyone keeps the great builds coming.
JHDrew Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 This one is too easy for me. Probably never going to make anything this detailed again in my life. Corvette Grand Sport 1/12th scale mostly scratch built.
Raul_Perez Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 This is my favorite of all time. Caution, not model car related. G Very nicely done!! I too like building WWII figures and vehicles. Later, This actually worked out kinda funny. I only built one plane. Then I gave it away, I really liked this one. Lots of scratch building and learning new stuff. Hosted on Fotki I usually build cars and this, although still unfinished, is the one I really like. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Scott Very cool stuff, Scott!!
Raul_Perez Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 This one is too easy for me. Probably never going to make anything this detailed again in my life. Corvette Grand Sport 1/12th scale mostly scratch built. AWESOME!! Excellent attention to detail!! Later,
Hippie Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 this thread was a great idea, your bring out some of the best work I've seen the vette is abslutly mind blowing and that plane is great, kinda deals weal style yet pracical anyways here's mine, i've posted it before, im sure your tired of seeing it but its just my favorite, its not extra detailed or anything, it just turn out "right" at least to me thanks,
Chuck Doan Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 1/4" scale garage dio. I really enjoyed researching and building this.
Mr.Zombie Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 What is 1/4" scale please? I'm not familiar with the quarterscale things. 1:25? And I'd love to see that as a separete thread with description and more (biig) pics. I love this!
Chuck Doan Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 (edited) Thanks! 1/48th scale, which is half of 1/25th (24th) scale. Full album here: http://public.fotki....red_oak_garage/ There are some insanely great models in this thread y'all! Good topic. Edited March 21, 2012 by Chuck Doan
Mr.Zombie Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Yes, I had a look. You sir, are my hero. Your imagination and abilities are unbelievable. Love the tractors, especially the little Fordson.
Chuck Doan Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Thanks! I feel the same way about a lot the builders on this forum. Great inspiration!
doomcrew Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Here are three of my fave car models. A Pro-Street Austin in Metalflake Red. Working suspension and an award to it's name. Then, a 1/16th Dragster, with many machined and scratchbuilt parts. And finally a model that caused me such a headache, a resin bodied 39 Merc that ended up with a paint job as smooth as glass.
