zaina Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 got everything painted but messed up on the body color...now i remember why i never use testors paints as the body colors anymore. got it as low as i could and still fit in the fenders. machined the pullies and got them on tonight. here is what i have so far.
rmvw guy Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Looks nice so far! Can't wait to see the body. Did you make the headers? Edited March 13, 2012 by rmvw guy
zaina Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 thanks. the headers are actually the kit pieces. they are different from left to right, but the one you can see would make a great header for a fenderless rod. would just need to make resin copies.
Monty Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the paint. Since you mentioned Testors by name, I assume the nozzle was responsible for most of the carnage. Here's a link to my comments about Testors cans from the Abandon the Airbrush thread: http://www.modelcars...pic=55515&st=41 That said, everything else looks pretty sharp. zaina Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 thanks guys. actually monty, the nozzle was just fine. the problem that i had was that the metal flake was building too much in the corners and not enough on the flatter areas. i sprayed with light coats but it still didnt make a difference.
Edward Gore Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 sorry to hear about the body paint but your build so-far looks super clean!
Chris M Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Nice frame! is this the 37 ford 2n1 kit? do those wheels and tires come with it? Great machine work as well!
zaina Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 this is indeed the 2n1 kit. the wheels are from my parts stash...not sure where they came from...and the tires are form modelhaus; they are just like the big n littles in the 29 rat rod pickup kit.
