dig Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Hey guys, here is a 55 Bel Air I had a little fun with. Paint is Model Masters Citrus Yellow Metallic and One Coat Graphite w/ One Coat's Clear. Seats are out of AMT's 57 Fairlane kit. LS7 engine, Aoshima wheels. Variety of photoetch, photo reduced and scratchbuilt stuff all throughout.
Dr. Cranky Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Beautiful model. Love the colors, and the Optima battery gets our attention in the engine bay. Nice all around work.
MyBradKeselowski Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Very cool looking build, I really like those colors... Like the plates good choice for a state ! ! !
Sixx Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Up in Smoke on DVD ! I didn't know what you were saying...until I looked again!!!!! Good eyes!!! LOL!!!!
LAone Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 yuup, sweet color choice. i like the engine details. it even has A/C..lols "up in smoke" in one and the visors? "fear and loathing in las vegas"?? maybe?
dig Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 Thanks for all the comps fellas! Good eye, yeah it's Fear and Loathing.
CorvairJim Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Oh man, the little details are over the top on this thing! (But isn't it just a tad dangerous to watch videos on your sun visor while tooling along the Interstate?)
JasonFL Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I was going to say, I was pretty sure that was fear and loathing. This is a great build, with some really great details. I love what you did with it and the color choice is perfect.
dig Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Thanks for all the kind words. There was a point at final assembly where I kinda freaked over how much chrome there was. I'd gotten so used to seeing w/o, I wasn't sure if I was going to like. It's my favorite though! Hopefully you guys will dig my next project
dig Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Jim: lol. Let's pretend the monitors only work w/ the E brake. Great toy to have on those Power Tour rest stops or at the drive-in diners!
