Here is my 1968 Roadrunner. This was made from the AMT Roadrunner kit. It is based on the paint scheme used at the Firecracker 400 that year. This is not box-stock and includes the following modifications:

Belly pan covering most of the underside

Brass tubing for exhausts

Resin cast wheels and tires

Handmade rear end cooler

Working hood pins

Handmade rollcage

Handmade seat with 5 point racing harness

Handmade headrest and fire extinguisher

Handmade front suspension

Handmade intake manifold and air cleaner

Added "B" billars to the body

Thank you for the comments, guys - I appreciate it.

Here's the car in it's case on the shelf - this was done with no flash as the light just reflected off the case wall.

I think this one is the best so far in your Petty lineup, and I've enjoyed watching and learning all your little tricks....I plan to use a few on a certain Mercury I'm collecting parts for....one that caused Petty to start taking those Goody Headache Powders, lol. Love the picture in the case, that really shows the stance. What's next, the Superbird??

Glenn, I appreciate it. I'm glad I am able to anything to help anyone else, and I am glad Tommy has enjoyed my build. Thank you

Thank you, Bruce. In all honesty, I had never seen this paint job or even heard of it until relatively recently. When I started the build, I was actually planning on doing the black top version, but this ended up coming out instead. Funny how things happen like that.

Cole, thank you for the compliment. I appreciate it.

Tommy, thank you for the compliment. With the other three all blue ones, it does stand out in the Petty car lineup I have going on. I'm looking forward to seeing your Mercury when you get started - that will be fun! I have the Jo-Han Superbird so yes, I will be getting to it. I just need to decide if I will try to work with the original Jo-Han kit, or if I can somehow get the extra cash to buy another kit to use for the chassis as the Jo-Han underside leaves something to be desired.

He he he - that's cool, Bart. We're never too old to adopt more modern terms (even if I do find myself saying "far out" still) - it means you're young at heart!! :)

Thank you, Felix. I appreciate it.

Thank you, Jason. I am happy with the four I have done so far, especially considering that a year and a half ago I couldn't even use my left hand to hold anything. Model building has been very therapeutic for me, and I appreciate that support and kind words.
