I've been trying to stay with this one untill its finished.

Too many unfinished and been thinking about stop building, for a while now.

So maybe this one will change my thought's if I can finish it.

Scratch built coil, ing.box and a few decals under the hood.

Changed the kit grille and still have a little more to go in order to get this one done.

I'll list all the extras when it's finished.

that is looking very nice and I can't wait to see it finished! I always admire those that are willing to paint a model black as it can show all the problems with the prep work.

Now that is how black paint is done! I'm guessing you either sprayed this with Tamiya black or you carved it out of obsidian.

That engine looks wicked too. You can almost hear a big ol' Isky mechanical cam in there. Set the valve lash & let's roll!

Can you explain why you changed the grille, and what you replaced it with?

I hope this one inspires you to keep on building. Can't wait to see it finished!

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

Monty

The way I changed the grille was cut the ends off and tucked them in flush with the body.

Then smoothed it out.

Cut the turn signals out and will replace them with amber clear plastic.

Cut the back side of the grille out and installed small strips of plastic rod in the empty space.

I know they are open on the real car but I want this one to stand out from the crowd.

And the same thing was done to the back bumper I'll show it later when I get more done.

In doing all of that of coarse the chrome gets messed up so I went with painting it Gun Metal to blend with the black.

As for the paint it is Testors Model Master and Model Master High Gloss

All from the can very thin coats and wet sanding.

And Mike your right about Black Paint, its a Beauty and the Beast thing LOL.

But I like it when it works out right

Earl, this looks like your best one yet! I hope to be able to lay paint down like that some day. The engine looks great, and the other mods, well, I'm just looking forward to seeing more and more of this one, buddy!

Looks sharp! And it looks like you added some photoetched SS 454 emblems. Who makes 'em? I've got a pair of box stock builds waiting, they're almost done, but why I haven't finished them...?

Thanks for all of the comment's everyone.

As for the emblems they are decals from the kit.

The bad thing is that I found a set of Photo etched part's that I got from Model Car Garage.com after I put the decals on.

Check with him he has some very nice part's.

His part's are well detailed and would look a lot better on there.

Hope to have some progress photo's up soon . Got some seat's to detail and the interior will be finished.

The basics

The color is Panzer gray even though it looks like a weird blue here.
