Alright i am trying to get to the bottom of this, I am using bleach to de chrome some of my parts, Its just taking way to long, i ve heard of guys using Simple Green etc whats the best thing to use infact whats the best thing to use to get the chrome and the yellow glaze off the parts?

Easy Off oven cleaner in the yellow can will remove the aluminum plating in under five minutes, then you leave it immersed for another 24 hours to remove all of the yellowish undercoating. You can get a huge can of it from Home Depot in the cleaning products aisle for $5.00 or so.

I have no problems with getting bleach to remove chrome, I just make sure its fresh, I have found that I have to switch out the bleach after a couple of times, it goes weak fast.

I've used Coca-Cola, simple green and brake fluid. all do good. Downside to brake fluid is that it'll soften plastic too much if left in too long!
