But i was seeing if you guys had any idea's on what i should do on it. I'm open to any help! Thanks troy
fatkidd Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 why not do a combination of flat and gloss? or use some dullcoat? maybe do the tops and backs of the seats gloss with the centers flat, the door panels flat with gloss inserts, gloss dash, flat sterring wheel with gloss center, and maybe throw a few spots of white here and there. just some thoughs
LoneWolf15 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Gloss black dash , dark red and creme accents on the seats and side panels ?
vintagestang Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 How about gloss red for the door panels that would be painted with cream accents. Satin black dash pad and rear deck. Red and cream seats with black or red carpet?
Badluck 13 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I've never seen car seats in "gloss." ...Unless its vinyl seats covered heavy in Armor All
crazyjim Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 And then you slipping and sliding all over. I know a guy once did his steering wheel with Armor All. And there was another guy did his motorcycle tires with the stuff.
Agent G Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 (edited) Satin on the seats, and door panels. Flat for the carpet and package shelf, gloss for the dash and wheel. There are a lot of colors which look good with a black exterior. Take our suggestions, make your choices, and paint away. BTW, Anyone remember those Dodge Diplomats from the 80's? The police package had a front bench seat, and where you sat was one solid piece of vinyl. No texture, no stiching, just yards of vinyl, ours were dark blue. Well some enterprising garage guy Armoralled all those seats. Yup, you guessed it, slid across and almost out the other side. We wore polyester blend uniform trousers back then. Hey it was the 80's..................... G Edited April 4, 2012 by Agent G
fatkidd Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I've never seen car seats in "gloss." Seat fabric is not glossy. just because you have ot seen them does not mean that they do not exist. school bus seats were/are vinyl and had an almost glossy sheen...close enough to call them gloss. they also make a colorless/clear vinyl that can be fashined into seat covers, floor mats, etc.
crazyjim Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Actually, Fatkidd, I've seen high gloss seats on rides at kids amusement parks. You gonna be at FAST on Saturday?
Draggon Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I did the dash and other metal with Testors Revving Red, and the seats in American Accents Colonial Red. They look great together! Ignore the lousy foil job on the dash, I'm not done yet.
Qwit Pushin Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Gloss black dash , dark red and creme accents on the seats and side panels ? I'm with Donn on this topic, you can't go wrong with his suggested combo.
Qwit Pushin Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I've never seen car seats in "gloss." C'mon, Harry!!! Surely you remember those clear plastic seat covers that folks use to put over their seats back in the day? They appeared glossy.
