Frank Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Can someone please tell me what will remove masking tape adhesive residue without damaging the paint.
vintagestang Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 DO NOT use adhesive remover, grease and wax remover, or Alchohol. I tried the three of those and it clouded my paint and would not buff out.
cobraman Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 How long did you leave the tape on ? You could try "Goof Off " with a Q tip but you need to be very careful. Remember to use quality tape and don't leave it on any longer than you have to.
Frank Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 what kind of tape and paint did you use? I used both Tamiya paint and tape

roadhawg Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Rub your finger against the side of your nose and buff with that. The natural oils from your skin should remove any residue.

Art Anderson Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 The easiest way I have ever found (and this goes back better than 40 years!) to remove tape "residue" is with more of the same tape! Just press a piece of masking tape down on the residue, and lift up--that has removed any and all tape residue every time I've done it! Art
