martinfan5 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Just finished this one up, It is Tamiya's Aston Martin DBS kit, I really liked this kit, and enjoyed building it, not problems at all with this kit. It comes with a nice little P/E set, as well the metal transfers . I could not get the ones for the engine to stay on. This was a OOB, I used Testors one coat lacquer graphite dust, and then clear coated with either the one coat clear or ultra clear lacquer, dont remember , I will say that I am very impressed with myself on this one. I did mess up a few things, and I did not do that great a job on the interior . Enough of my blah blah blah, here are the pics
Scuderia Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 classy yet ready to pounce. Tamiya did good with this one, and yours looks great. I like it alot
hotrod59f100 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I can hear the tires screaming and the engine roars as the stig rips up the track. Good job

Dr. Cranky Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I like it, buddy. You always build a nice clean model, and the pictures I love too. Excellent model to add to your ever-growing collection.

edward smith Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Cool model, I am not crazy about the color, just doesn't look right on this car. Did you use a clear on that paint?
Dyno Davo Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Nice build, thought they were photos of the real car.
martinfan5 Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 Thanks guys, yes it is clear coated, I know it does not show up well in the pics, I think it was part due to it was a over cast day .
Agent G Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Thanks guys, yes it is clear coated, I know it does not show up well in the pics, I think it was part due to it was a over cast day . LIAR! You never see a single cloud down there. Don't blame your poor painting skills on the weather young man. I for one like that color on that car. I've seen a real one painted a shade darker gray, and was fortunate enough to have sat in a black one. I gotta get me one of these for sure, Tamiya that is. G

G G you are, right, I was mistook the smog for clouds , I kind of wanted a shade darker then what I have, I even used a black base coat, but I still like the shade. I have to admit, I was impressed with this color from the testor's one coat lacquer line, the metal flakes dont seem to be as big as in the other colors I have tried \ I almost went with black, I would highly recommend this kit Edited April 6, 2012 by martinfan5
