dirtracer2448 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 This is the first model car i have ever done. My grandfather and i built it together (even though unfinished) when i was 6 and it sat in a drawer for nearly 11 years untill i found it recently and decided to finish/redo it. It is a 1:32 1963 ford thunderbird and it lacks some detail in which im going to add some but not all. Ex: the hood doesnt open and there is no motor or any drivetrain.
Scuderia Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 cant recall seeing one of these built up so i'm anxious to see what ya have in mind for it.
dirtracer2448 Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 I am in the middle of disassembly but i dont have any pictures to show due to the lack of a camera and my phone not working. But i can tell you that during the process, i discovered that when i first built this, i broke off the trim that went along the windshield, glued the door panels on the wrong side (backwards) and along with glueing it in the wrong spot, i also broke one of the interior panels that is needed for the roadster. I forgot to mention that this kit is a 3 in 1 kit that can be made into a coupe, roadster, or convertible in which I will be building the roadster. i will try and get the pics posted asap.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 It sounds like that model does indeed have lots of personal emotions and memories attached to it. Good luck, and have fun.
dirtracer2448 Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Sorry I havent updated in a while. I finally got the parts and tools I needed and started working on it again. I'll post pictures soon.
JasonFL Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 The first model I ever built was with my grandfather, we built the 57' Belair black with flames. I wish I still had that build, one day I hope to rebuild it. Looking forward to seeing you get this thing back on display.
