dragin70s Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 OK, I have the AMT Chi-Town Hustler Omni kit. It has a slight arc to the hood/bottom of the windscreen area. I was wondering if it is possible to heat a body to slightly reshape it to eliminate that hump? Thanks for any advice.
Ben Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I would put it in some very hot water while holding it a little past where you want it to be and then immediately hold it under cold water.
Darren B Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I would put it in some very hot water while holding it a little past where you want it to be and then immediately hold it under cold water. exactly what i have used in the past, just boil some water on the stove if your hot water heater doesnt get to hot hold it in the water for a few moments then cold water, worked wonders for me.
Chillyb1 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I do recommend that you be very careful when using hot water.
Harry P. Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I do recommend that you be very careful when using hot water. Is that a model manta ray?
dragin70s Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 OK, boys, thanks for the suggestions. Did it once and made progress. Going to let it set tonight and see that it stays, and then do it again tomorrow and hopefully get it perfect, or close anyway. Thanks for the help.
bbowser Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I do recommend that you be very careful when using hot water. LOL, been there-done that. And there's no going back
Jantrix Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 (edited) I do recommend that you be very careful when using hot water. I think this is still usable! Yeah, just add a tail and call it a Sting Ray! EDIT: Gah! Harry beat me to the punch line. Edited April 10, 2012 by Jantrix
