Junkman Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I relish the fact that when we are talking about Doctor Cranky, the subject quickly turns to his other favorite topic of conversation other than styrene: FOOD. Oy, aye. And a nice Honduras cigar afterwards.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 (edited) Christian, I just got some PUNCH (rare corojos) from Honduras that are fabulous. Styrene + Food + Stoggies = a Happy Doctor Cranky! :) BETTER YET though is ALL OF YOU FEEDING DOCTOR CRANKY more EYE CANDY! Edited April 15, 2012 by Dr. Cranky
Dr. Cranky Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 bark bark bark? What? You want Doctor Cranky to make another video, okay!

Those of you who didn't get the reference must be too young...or never watched Lassie. Food, styrene and stoggies...Never met any one of those I didn't like!
Dr. Cranky Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Here you go: Watch the Just for you, Trey. Best, DC
JasonFL Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I'm a fan of you work, I checked out your page but I had no idea you did YouTube videos. I'll have to check them out, it will give me something to do the next few nights.

Dr. Cranky Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Nice, travel safe and tune back in where you get there.
LoneWolf15 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 The Old Man is too grouchy to have any fans, right? I didn't say that, EYEGORE says that because the Old Man promised him some Primanti Bros. sandwiches and they haven't arrived. Humph ! You want Primanti's ? Come on up and I'll buy ! Whole lotta places up here that will tantalize the taste buds ! As for Eyegore , he's in a runoff with the Loonietic's dog as to which one's crazier or uglier ! Lmao ! As for cranky , that's your nickname , not mine ! The Old Man's disposition is always like peaches and cream ...... Yeah , right !
Mercman Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 In response to the Doc's salt technique, besides cars, you can also use it on buildings.
Wayne Buck Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Woah! Are there more Dr. Cranky junkies in here? *raises hand*
JasonFL Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Welcome to the Lab-RAT-ory, Jason. Haha...thankyou, I'm looking forward to watching all the YouTube videos. I'm sure I'll be learning a thing or two
GrandpaMcGurk Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 No worries Doc........we'll keep a light on for you at the home, just remember they won't let us have anything sharper than a Q-Tip. Ain't too shabby....butt kickin' meds and the nurses are real sweeties!
Ramfins59 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I have to confess that, while I have lived in Cranberry Twp, PA for the past 5 years (about 25 or so miles north of Pittsburgh), I still have never tried a Primanti Bros. sandwich... There is a Primanti restaurant (a branch) less than 5 minutes from my home, and I have eaten the food there, but I just have not yet tried a Primanti sandwich... My wife and daughters have, and they seem to love them. I guess it's a New York thing (I'm originally from Long Island, NY) The thought of a pile of french fries ON a sandwich, along with a pile of coleslaw, just does NOT seem appealing to me. One day I'll give in and try one, but I'm thinking that I'll probably wind up taking the french fries OFF the sandwich. Primanti's DOES make prety good New York style pizza though...
LoneWolf15 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Only one as far as I'm concerned , the original one in the Strip District ! Started going there in '72 ! Place is packed at 4 am !
Tony T Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Dr. Cranky is an inspiration to his styrene addicted minions! Hey Doc...I recently was able to buy your book from my LHS here in Canada...I requested he bring it in if he could and he did!! Wonderful book and I'm looking forward to applying some of the techniques. Well done!
Dr. Cranky Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Thanks for the support of the Lab-RAT-ory, Tony. Thank you. Donn, that's the only P. Bros. place I've ever been too and I went in the middle of the afternoon and the place was packed, so they must be making hundreds of those skyscraper sandwiches all day long. A gold mine indeed.
Jantrix Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Theres no doubt that Virgil has been a positive influence on this hobby. Every contest I've done for the last two years, his name comes up. People respect his creative nature and his open willness to teach. Plenty of builders will give a couple of paragraphs on how they did this or that. But few have dedicated themselves to teaching the skills. For that I'm a fan and a friend.
Terror Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Quit that lame job and do a reality series already.lol
ZombieHunter26 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Quit that lame job and do a reality series already.lol I'm thinkin' somethin' like 'Hell's Kitchen'... But the Doc is too good natured and laid back to be mean! LOL ...Eyegore would have to step in and be the Gordon Ramsey of styrene
Dr. Cranky Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 LOL, you guys really crack me up, and cheer me up. I've been having these meetings at work that seem endless and really existential. The overall effect is that they deplete me of any creativity, thus no work on the bench today.
