Harry P. Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Big White Sox fan (me) just watched Phil Humber pitch a perfect game against Seatlle. Pretty cool...
slantasaurus Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Does it still count if its against the Mariners ??
Harry P. Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 Does it still count if its against the Mariners ?? Oh, you bet it does!
RodneyBad Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 and this has what to do with models?? Just saying..
Rob Z Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Diehard Cleveland fan but, cannot say anything bad about a perfect game... That's AWESOME and rare...
2000-cvpi Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Go Tigers. I just wish it had been Verlander that pitched a perfect game.
Cato Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Just watched the Yanks come back from 9-0 deficit and kill Red Sox 15-9!!! good bye Bobby V. :D
charlie8575 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Definitely not an achievement to be scoffed at, no matter who does it. Cogratulations to him. This is the first I've heard about it since I was on the road most of yesterday.
Harry P. Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 Definitely not an achievement to be scoffed at... Only the 21st perfect game in major league history! When you think of how many games played every year, and major league baseball is 130+ years old, and it's only the 21st time it's ever been done... pretty cool.
Guest Johnny Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Well at least one thing big will have happened with the Sox this year.
Jdurg Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 It was great seeing that. I don't care what team it is, but I was getting jitters watching that last inning and I wasn't even playing the game or a fan of the team! You could tell that he was nervous too by the way he was overthrowing and getting to three ball counts. I got a bit tense when Rios caught that flyball to right field with just one hand. GET UNDER THE ###### THING AND USE TWO HANDS!!!!! If he dropped that ball I'd have felt horrible for Humber. Watching that last inning reminded me of 2001 when Mussina was one strike away from a perfecto and Carl Everett blooped a single into right field. The only Boston baserunner of the game. Ah well. As a Yankees fan, yesterday was pretty sweet. The White Sox where perfect, while the Red Sox were as far from perfect as it gets.
Guest Johnny Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 It's like watching a bowler on that last ball for a "300" game!! It would get so quiet swear you could hear the bowler's heartbeat!
