How can I get my model to shine?

I have used the 2 part model masters paint then clear coat set up, with wet sanding; however, I'm still getting a somewhat flat body color.

Is there a automotive polishing compound that I can apply (without hurting the previous layers) to get the paint to really stand out? At-home Alternatives?

Novus 2 for polishing , Final Treatment Detail Wax for waxing and finish ! Micro Mark carries the products.

Pretty hard to beat the Micromesh polishing kits which have been, and still are, sold by a number of different outlets.

Are you putting on enough coats of clear?

I usually put down 2-3.

Scratch X may help you also. As one poster said Novus # 2 is pretty good and I use it often.

Meguiars scratch x is the best compound I've found yet.

Just try to keep in mind that you don't want to put any paint over a polishing compound... After you paint and clear, then use the compound.....
