jerseyjunker1 Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 this power wagon is a danbury mint in 1/24 scale it was a green p/up that i turned into a produce truck using my friend kens name as he ownes a farm here in nj. for a little more realism i removed the nose of the truck and remade it out of already rusted tin.i made a stake body using screening for the sides. i can't remember everything i did to it as it was a few years ago pictures are not that good. a little on the dark side. i will post again if and when i can get better shots but here it is.
Grumpa Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Manny....You do junk like nobody does junk! This is very convincing. Love it in the photo parked next to the rusting hulk.
outlaw035 Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 agree with manny...theres lots of junk on ur shelves...grt8 job....
jerseyjunker1 Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 wrecks and a few diorama buildings but mostly junkers. hence the name jerseyjunker1
Jantrix Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) Why not challenge yourself and step out of your comfort zone? I mean you have the skills, but I know what your build will look like before even open the thread. No surprises. No offense intended, just curious. Edited May 3, 2012 by Jantrix

I mean you have the skills, but I know what your build will look like before even open the thread. No surprises. No offense intended, just curious. none taken i love criticism i think it is helpfull. as for why i don't do many shiny models well' it just aint me. i have always loved going to junkyards and seeing all the rusting cars and trucks and wondering how they ended up like that.also most real nice classic cars are owned by people that have gotten them out of barns and junkyards so that nice super clean vehicle you are looking at at the car shows is not what the vehicle looked like when it was aquired.unless it was a garage kept and maintained and a never hit vehicle since it was new and passed down or aquired at barrett jackson by someone rich which most of us are not. i like and admire all of the beutifull models that are shown here by all of the super talented builders on this and other sites like this.but i do on occasion like to get away from the junkers and do nice models. unfortunatly i never took any pictures of them as that was many years ago. i have done a few diecast conversions like this danbury mint 1936 ford 3 window that was damaged and black and rather than junk it i fixed it and repainted it white. and this pontiac promo model that i am turning into a fire chiefs car or this 64 merc plastic kit that i combined with parts from a diecast. i am going to do a few nicer cars but right now i am busy building junkers for customers and don't have much time for my own stuff. i hope this answers your question and again thank you for asking me.

No problem. I'm happy you were able to take my comment in the spirit it was intended. Keep on junkin'!
Chuck Most Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Love the Power Wagon... and that '37 Studebaker caught my eye, too. Nice to see some of your 'Jersey Jewels' as well, they're quite a nice contrast to the junkers.
Brizio Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 I really like the Power Wagon, also the pics they looks real!
