Nick W. Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Who makes the better ford bronco kit? R/M or amt/mpc? I want to build one, but wasn't sure which one is nicer.
mikemodeler Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 What year are you trying to replicate, that can make a difference.
Guest Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I like the Monogram Bronco pretty good. It's only shortcoming is chassis detail with molded in exhaust and opened ring and pinion housings on the axles. Never have built the MPC/AMT Bronco,so I can't say anything either way on it.
Nick W. Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 The year doesnt matter lol! I just want to build a bronco!
mikemodeler Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 well then buy the first bronco kit you see and build it!
Jordan White Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 As an overall kit, I'd go with the Monogram Bronco. Plowboy mentioned a few of the drawbacks with the kit, but I'd say it has much better detail than the AMT kit. Plus it comes with more extra parts. There is the fact that the AMT kit has a TTB setup that consists of separate pieces, compared to the Monogram kit, though the one-piece setup in the MG kit isn't all that bad.
Nick W. Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 Ok thanks Jordan! Mike i will do that lol! I like the looks of the monogram kit, because the rims that come with the latest issue look like the rims on the 1991 Silver anniversary.
Fat Brian Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 If you can find a set of Super Swampers from one of the Aoshima Toyota 4x4 kits they fit the wheels in the Monogram kit nicely.
