Took off to much glue from a decal......

whats the best adhesive to use so i can get a decal to stick again. It's a license plate decal, so fortunately it's a small one. apparently I left it in the water too long and now it won't stick.

Future. Or any clear (acrylic, enamel, whatever). Paint it on the area where the plate will go and apply the decal.

actually, for a license plate, i would be tempted to not apply it as a decal at all but instead cut it out and glue it backing and all to the bumper or wherever it is supposed to go. maybe run a black sharpie around its edges to hide the white paper.

rereading your post i guess that horse has already left the barn but maybe for next time!

Except the part where he says run a black sharpie around it to hide the white edge. Real plates have a white (ok, silver) edge, not black.
