Guest Darkside Customs Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 I changed my mind at the last minute... I'm always like that...lol
carchub Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Hah, I know how that is. Well you made no mistake with the change, it looks awesome! (I'll shut up now, hahahaha)
Guest Darkside Customs Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Pretty much Doin just the small stuff at the moment... Cut the driveshaft and slid aluminum tubing in place.... Underside of hood flat black, and the headliner is flat black... Wasn't concerned about the pin marks, flocking will cover that up.... Next is to foil and clear....
Guest Darkside Customs Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Thanks.... I got the some stuff in from Scaledreams yesterday.... I been working on it throughout the day today... I'll post some pics up later this evening.... Thanks to all that have responded with the great comments....
Mr Dedo Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 One of my favorite kits, too. Learned about the limitations of spray can finishes and the importance of rinsing everything with 409 cleaner.
Guest Darkside Customs Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Tryin to get more done on this... Engine is finished and installed... Interior is flocked and finished as well....
Guest Darkside Customs Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Alright, I got the body foiled after a couple of hours and a few choice words and shot two coats of clear.... There were a couple spots that had to be wet sanded and after that I got a few more coats on... This is a pic after the first two coats....
High octane Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 The chassis is about done... Mock up with the motor partially finished... Your GTX is lookin' good so far. I have one started and I'm using the hemi from the Dart kit and the 727 trans is a resin piece.
Harry P. Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Those were "unibody" cars... the chassis pan was part of the body shell, and would have been painted all at the same time. In other words, the underside of the car would be the same color as the body.

If you don't like how I built it, then by all means build one yourself.... You're a moderator on here... In other words, you should take the advice at the top of the On the workbench forum..... Thanks and have a great day....
Harry P. Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I'm just giving you some information you can use on your next MOPAR build. That's what we do here... we try and help each other out, share information, etc. If you're offended by what I said, just ignore it.
