vintagedragfan Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 color sounds like it would fit this build nicely John!
hvymtl Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 70 Cranberry Red with black graphics then pearl it just my 2 cents worth Michael
customsrus Posted May 16, 2013 Author Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) Ok everyone, got a little update for you. Got the chassis 99% finished, still have a bit of plumbing to do. Car will be Hugger orange with white stripes, so I painted the chassis to match. Painted the front of the chassis black, I used a few different metalizer paints on portions of the front and rear suspensions.I also used some carbon fiber decals on the tanks. I made the front steering posable with some brass rod. Added brake lines front and rear. So on with the pictures. Next up the interior. Do you guys think I should paint the interior the bland grays of today cars or should with go with something to match the orange? Edited May 16, 2013 by customsrus
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I would do the interior with orange accent pieces... Maybe a white interior or grey.
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Still a pleasure to see this one moving forward.
TFchronos Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Incredible work on the frame and engine, I'm so looking forward to seeing this one finished.
Eric N. Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 John always has killer stuff at Hartland-Hope to see you there. Eric
customsrus Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 thanks everyone for your comments, hopefully I will have an update on the interior by time the weekend is over, wish me luck...
Christopher J Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Super killer looking work! I hope to see this model in person next month at the show.

Jeremy Jon Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Fantastic idea! Looks great, looking forward to seeing it completed!
azers Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I suggest dark and light grays with orange accents. Or various shades of metallics with orange highlights to mimic the engine and frame details. By the way nice work so far.
PappyD340 Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I like it , I like it a lot!! can't wait to see the end result I know it's going to be awesome great job so far
customsrus Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 Interior is finished. I decided to go with light and medium tans with some carbon fiber thrown into the mix, also added some orange accents to the door panels and dash. Colors are Krylon Almond (light tan) and Khaki. I then painted everything with Krylon satin gloss.Made some seat belts out of ribbon and used photo-etch buckles. I also used flocking for carpet.
customsrus Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 Oh no I not finished yet. Also got some color on this build. Color is Testors Hugger Orange. I still need to put the stripes on. I will then clear coat, sand and polish this, I am hoping to get this finished in time for Heartland. Wish me luck. Thanks.
jeffs396 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Oooh, love that hugger orange! Looking forward to your finished assembly pics
freakshow12 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 That looks awesome! I really like the decision on tan interior vs grey. I am a big fan of tan
goodguyinar416 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) You got my attention! that is one sharp looking Cavelle or Chamero whichever! It is looking awesome, but the only thing I think I would have put the Camero headlights in it and used a different grill that does not say Chevelle? otherwise keep it going....
