vintagestang Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 (edited) My next model will be the Revell 1965 chevy stepside. I want to do a split bumper setup for the front. Can someone quickly photoshop an image and post it because I don't know how good it would look? EDIT: I decided not to do the split bumper but I want this to be something that a teen would use on a farm and then go and hang out with his friends. I will delete the turn signals and make a guard for the rear window. Help me think of some other body mods, please. EDIT AGAIN: I will also have the headers comming out of the to of the front fenders. Stock wheels will be used. Edited June 8, 2012 by vintagestang
Qwit Pushin Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Best I could do in a few minutes. I slid the bumper back closer to the body prior to splitting it. I used the lower part of the front of the hood, (the part with open vents) to create a front valance to go behind the bumper - would require a second hood. Anyhow, hope it helps.
vintagestang Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 Thanks. I was thinking have an extra grille between the bumpers but I will use this picture and use Photobucket.
martinfan5 Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Not liking the second grill to be honest, its too big for that area

OK lets go with this photo because it looks cool the way it is. Now if you want to add your grille to this one,add it from the back side where the holes in the center of the bumper is. That would be the only way to make it look more detailed. The design looks good enough to me for what you wanted.
vintagestang Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 I've decided I won't do it. But thanks anyway.
JunkPile Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 More work will be needed. Turn signals and parking lites
vintagestang Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 More work will be needed. Turn signals and parking lites What park lights? It only has tail lights.
JunkPile Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 What park lights? It only has tail lights. Parking lights and turn signals are in same housing.
hotrod59f100 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Just some food for thought most teen to mid twentys farm boys are puting stacks on there trucks lifting them and using them for mudding . At least here in NY where I live that's the case.
vintagestang Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Around here they jack them up and put loud mufflers on them.
signguy2108 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Patrick, try google images "1965 chevy stepside" or you could just ride around south ark, there's plenty of ideas sitting in yards in this area!
vintagestang Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Down here if you see anything that old it will either be unrestored rusting in a yard or fully restored and in the weeds.
vintagestang Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Larry, your not very far from me I'm in Magnolia.
signguy2108 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Patrick, I was going to ask where you were at. Bad deal over there yesterday, friend of mine in the 18 wheeler.
vintagestang Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 I didn't hear about that. I was in Hope for a week.
