I think its going to be 10 11 maybe 12 laps for audi +2 for Toyota.

Of course that's what the manufactures are hoping for with a Hybrid on top when it's all said and done.

Audi also admitedly has pit box space issues with four cars. They all don't fit and are a little cramped up

Rain could change that. They say the E-tron is not as good in the rain as the Ultra, and from Q3 it looked like the Audis struggled a little in cooler damper conditions (while it was not raining it was cool with high humidity with a high due point so the track surface was cool and damp).

In other news. Audi is loosing some of it's drivers to the Porsche LMP1 program and there is a new mid engine 911 GT car in the works which is going to be Porsche's new top of the line super car above the 911.

Honda also expressed serious interest in coming to Le Mans with an LMP1 car. 2014 is shaping up to be a banger year with maybe as many as 5 manufacturers in LMP1.

You can watch it on Le Mans TV with permanent classement and commentary in English:

http://live.lemans-tv.com/

It allows you to switch forth and back between 12 channels, including the 24h onboard camera of the Corvette, the Nissan Wedge pit, the Joest Audi livestreams for each of their cars, the Audi Sport North America lifestream, the Toyota livestream, as well as the 24h cameras of Greaves and Signatech/Nissan.

My tip: Do ten laps in the Corvette with the sound on full blast!

After this, you are used to the pace.

Then switch to one of the Joest Audis. You will not believe the difference in speed.

Just turned on TV to SPEED, race is on. I was under the impression that the new deltawing would be on the track. Is it?

Just heard on the broadcast that beginning in 2014 all cars will be required to be closed cockpit, along with many other rules changes. That certainly will create a different look for the DeltaWing (assuming something like it is still around in 2 years).

The delta wing looks like it was lifted from a '57 Desoto (maybe mount three vertical taillights in it). Virgil Exner was a man ahead of his time.

It's currently (18:45) running in position 52.

No, the man who designed the delta wing is 55 years behind his time. The way things look atm, a '57 De Soto would be faster, too.

The Delta Wing has been killed by a Toyota.

And the Toyota was killed by a Ferrari.

It would seem the second Toyota is retired with a possible tub failure

So, is there racing.... between all these commercials? ^_^

Had to share the TV, never did see the Deltawing run. Like a lot of radical new ideas, it (apparently) still needs sorting out.

Read an update somewhere that a driver involved in an incident has a broken back. Hope he heals.

Apparently, lots of on-track incidents? I have seen a few Ferrari in the sand traps.

Lots of catagories this year. How many? And... hybrids? I suppose, if you think of LeMans as a giant test run for engineering.

Sunday afternoon - my daughter is driving me to lunch and a movie for Father's Day, and asks "Dad, why is the Toyota dealer's flag at half-staff?"

She knows nothing about racing, so I ventured my opinion.

I think we all know why it was

At least the one Toyota went out with a big finish !!! I admit I was impressed with the performance of the Toyota though. And the lawn dart got stuck in the wall, where they should have left it !!!!

yeah Get Well Soon Anthony Davidson. Interestingly, the two huge crashed last year with the Audis were also involving Ferraris.

Toyota was putting up a good fight up to that point. Toy Audi Toy after some mistakes by the Audi drivers and some tire pick up that stuck in TK's suspension on his Audi. Then it all kind of unraveled from there.

The Scariest part of Anthony Davidson's crash was none of the corner workers would touch the car because of the electricution danger. Sorry about your Lizards, CAL, they didn't fair too well. Le Mans is like that.

Yeah Le Mans hasn't been good to the Lizards. In fact, Porsche in general didn't have a good Le Mans this year. The AM car was up to the 2ND place GT Pro car, but it all went away.

I am not sure about that. Anthony said he was in pain and knew he was hurt got out of the car in a panic (he said it was all very strange after the car stopped... he had closterphobia) and laid down on the car's side pod. They probably just didn't know what to do with a hurt driver laying on the car, and were just waiting for the medics.

Those boobs on Speed didn't know what they were talking about half the time.
