Modelcollector Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 What are you guys using for air and electric lines between the tractor & trailer? I am using some small gauge wire, but can't get the "limp" look I want. I've seen some here that look like what I'm wanting. Thanks.
rcdave Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 (edited) You need to use a fine stranded wire with the soft insulation or a hard wire and just bend it for the sag, assuming when you say "limp" you are talking about the way it sags in the middle. A couple people sell it on ebay in the model section. I got mine from Kit Form Services and it came with the plugs for the end of the lines. Edited June 15, 2012 by rcdave
camaro73 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I use 22ga solid wire then shape it as needed. I get my glad hands from a Railroad hobby store. I am still learning how to do these to.
Aaronw Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Radio shack sells a wire wrapping tool you can use to get that nice, even coil. I'm sure you could make one, but theirs is cheap and works. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103243
Modelcollector Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 Thanks guys. I have found that 22 ga railroad "hook-up" wire works well. It comes in 3 or 4 conductor rolls, 12 ft for $4.98 at one of the LHSs that I frequent. In the 3 conductor roll its red, white, & blue. Paint the white either black or green (depending on the light cord you need, ABS or non) and your good to go. I wrap my wire around a small needle file about the same diameter as coat hanger wire. Seems to work well so far. Soon as I gigure out the picture thing I'll post some up.
