gowjobs Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Gunze Messerschmitt three-wheeler. MPC Jawbreaker, Monogram Red Baron, Tamiya F1 car, and a bunch of other stuff.
Darin Bastedo Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Hey Dave, why don't you try building something out of the ordinary? this cookie cutter. same old same old stuff is getting boring Just kidding it looks great, I wish I had thought of it.
KENNEDYJR Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 That is sweet!! I have like to have one of those on my shelf. Great job.
Olle F Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 That is the coolest thing I have seen in a long time! Great idea and a great build!
gowjobs Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 It''s a conspiracy, I tell you! Not only did I not place at the Western Scale Classic (okay, it might have something to do with the AWESOME entries by some of the other guys), but Darryl G. put down, "Model Cars wants to shoot your car!" card next to nearly every vintage drag car AROUND the Mess-O-Schmitt! S'all good... maybe he'll get tired of glossy, shiny mile-deep candy paint before the next show, right?

LT Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Extremely cool! This registers way off the "unique-o-meter".
Jairus Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Not only did I not place at the Western Scale Classic (okay, it might have something to do with the AWESOME entries by some of the other guys), but Darryl G. put down, "Model Cars wants to shoot your car!" card next to nearly every vintage drag car AROUND the Mess-O-Schmitt! I don't know about the judging and awards... but Maybe you just missed Darryl taking table pictures? At any rate, I believe that this deserves a place in the show coverage so.... you should send a nice couple of high res pictures and a short write up to Gregg for the Contest Annual. Or... wait for G. and I to shoot it at one of the shows we are going to...?
Matt T. Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Schone! Wild & crazy, as usual, Dave. Weathering is perfect, and nice lettering job too!
gowjobs Posted July 17, 2007 Author Posted July 17, 2007 Jairus, Nah - I'm not too worried about it. I was just giving you guys a hard time. There were MANY beautiful builds there - and the nostalgia drag class was by far the largest at this show. Many ultra-detailed builds sporting flawless and intricately applied paintjobs there. I really can't fault the judges at all. With so many great subjects to shoot, I couldn't just pick forty or fifty to try to shoot. Darryl has always been so good about spotting my latest builds that I just had to have a little fun at his expense.
