foxbat426 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 was just thinking of using these for the goodyear etc. lettering on tires - painting some tires is almost impossible.
slusher Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 l have seen them for sale time to time on ebay....Slusher
cobraman Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I think the dry transfer lettering works better if you can find some. Doesn't Slixx have some tire decals ?
Kris Morgan Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Try www.scalemodelingbychris.com I think they carry several styles.
Erik Smith Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Slixx has them - most are sized and meant for NASCAR. They have a "nostalgic" (or something like that) tire decal sheet that includes some GY, Firestone, and other markings. I have another sheet, I think is is Scale Motorsports???, and includes smaller than your normal NASCAR GY decals. I'll double check that source when I get home. There was a seller eBay that had some GY Poly Glas decals, but I haven't seen them in awhile.
Guest Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Doesn't Shabo also make dry transfer lettering for tires? I tried kit supplied decals once and had no luck with those at all. When I do want letters on my tires, I use a 3/0 brush, flat white acrylic paint and dry brush the letters.

They have Goodyear (older styles and newer NASCAR yellow lettering), Firestone, and I think Bridgestone. Also some whitewall styles...I think...maybe? I could be wrong. Just checked Model Empire. Page 56 in their online catalog has the full list (most likely) of Shabo's products. Edited June 20, 2012 by The70judgeman
