epi4561 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 I apologize if this has already been covered. I searched, but could not find anything on my problem.. I have decanted some of the Krylon Triple Thick Crystal Clear Glaze in a glass jar. and let it set over night.. I've discovered through the search feature, that it is not entirely necessary to do that. Anyway, the problem I was having is that when I sprayed it through my airbrush, it came out looking like spray adhesive. Does anyone have any clue why something like that might happen? thanks-epi
epi4561 Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 no, its from a rattle can. it shouldn't need to be thinned, should it? I thought I read somewhere on here that it doesn't need to be thinned.
fatkidd Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 It sounds like it sat too long and when you are spraying it, it is essentially drying in mid-air. My suggestion would be to cut down on your wait time after decanting it. The few times that I have used spray bomb clear and decanted it, I only let it sit for a short while. Some suggest to decant it and spray it right away while others say to let it "breathe" before you spray it. The best suggestion that I was given was to decant it and wait until the container that you decant into no longer feels cold. Hope this helps.
Draggon Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 The consistency should be like milk. Thin with lacquer thinner until it looks like that, and spray away!
epi4561 Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 Thanks guys for your help.. It looks like I hit Double Whammy.. I let it sit too long and didn't thin it.. oh well, live and learn. thanks-epi
